How to Thread Your Eyebrows with Floss
- Trim Your Eyebrows – Trim any strays of hairs that are excessively long. Brush your eyebrows upward, trimming any hairs that are extra long. Then brush your eyebrows downward, trimming any out-of-place hairs that you may notice.
- Shape Your Brows – Use an eyebrow pencil to outline your desired eyebrow shape. Start from the outer edges of your brow and move towards the inside. Your outline should be clear as you will be threading the hairs that are outside your brow outline.
- Prepare the Floss – Tie together the ends of a 14-inch piece of dental floss thread. Loop your index finger and thumb into each end of the floss, and twist one thread (while holding the other thread still) several times until it is twisted in the middle of the loop.
- Thread Your Brows – Move your thumb and index finger back and forth so that the twisted section moves towards or away from you. Use this motion will latch on to the hair you want to thread and the floss will “pull out” the hair. I find it easier to keep one hand in place while you move the fingers of your other hand.
- Repeat Step 4 for both eyebrows until all hairs outside the outline have been threaded.
- Wash off the outline or continue with the rest of your brow routine.
How to Thread Your Eyebrows with a Blade
If you want the look of threaded brows but don’t want to use floss or thread on your face, try using a razor instead.
The easiest way to thread your eyebrows with a blade is to use an eyebrow razor because eyebrow razors are specifically designed for eyebrows and are much safer to use near your eyes. The razor helps you remove unwanted hair, giving you a beautiful “threaded” look.
Here’s What You Need To Do:
- Trim your eyebrows – Trim any strays of hairs that are excessively long. Use an eyebrow pencil to outline your desired eyebrow shape. Brush your eyebrows upward, trimming any hairs that are extra long. Then brush your eyebrows downward, trimming any hairs you find.
- Shave your eyebrows – Shave above and under your eyebrow. You’ll want to thread the hairs that are outside your brow outline. Be sure to shave in the direction your eyebrows grow to prevent ingrown hairs and to avoid cutting yourself with the blade.
- Wash your face – Once you’re satisfied with the way your eyebrows look, wash your face with your regular facial cleanser and moisturizer.
How to Thread Your Eyebrows without Thread
The best way to get the shape and look of threaded brows without actually threading them is to fake it with an eyebrow brush and pencil.
Here’s What You Need To Do:
- Trim Your Eyebrows – Trim any strays of hairs that are excessively long. Brush your eyebrows upward, trimming any hairs that are extra long. Then brush your eyebrows downward, trimming the hairs that are too long or out of place.
- Shape Your Brows – Use an eyebrow pencil to outline your desired brow shape. If you have hair that is outside of your brow outline. You will need to remove them by tweezing or cutting them off with an eyebrow blade.
- Fill in Your Brows – Take your eyebrow brush and begin filling in any bald spots. Ensure to fill in the areas that are inside your brow line.
- Use Concealer – This step is optional but it really helps with the finished look. Using a concealer brush, fill in the top and bottom edges of your brows with a concealer. The concealer should be the same shade as your face. Blend the concealer into the brow by tapping lightly along your brow edges. You can also use your fingers to help blend in the concealer.
- Apply Brow Gel – Apply some brow gel with your brow brush to help how your brow in place.
How to Thread Eyebrows without Using Your Mouth
The easiest way to tread your eyebrows without using your mouth is to create a treading instrument. A threading instrument acts as the lever that holds your thread in place. This eliminates the need to use your mouth.
Here’s What You Need To Do:
- Begin with a spool of 100% cotton thread. Pull out around 4ft of thread.
- Create The Loop – Loop the thread around your neck (loosely) and tie a knot.
- Form a Triangle – Form a triangle by holding the loose end of your thread with one hand and then hold the thread around your forefinger and thumb with the other hand.
- Twist the Triangle – Twist the triangle around 6 to 7 times by rotating the hand with the thread around the forefinger and thumb.
- Test your Twist – Lower and raise the loose end of the thread while holding your triangle tight. This creates a rolling movement in the twist.
- Thread the Brow – Put your twist in the line of the hairs you want to remove. Lower and raise the loose end of the thread. This motion will latch on to the hair you want to thread and the thread will “pull out” the hair. You can slightly lift the thread each time to help pull out the hair once the twist has latched on.
